Software Tester

Big Apple Greeter recently launched new proprietary software for matching visitor requests with volunteer Greeters and is currently testing and fixing bugs in the system. Given the complexity of the database, testing will continue for many months. About the position: Big Apple Greeter seeks a part-time volunteer Software Tester & Assistant Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have several years of software testing experience. The Software Tester will learn the custom/proprietary system built in MySQL/Laravel and familiarize themselves with Big Apple Greeter’s software objectives. You will work closely with the Executive Director, providing critical contributions to make the system fully functional, thus empowering New Yorkers to give back through volunteering. Required Skills: Software testing experience. An interest in working with people of varying computer skills from our software developer and Executive Director to front-line volunteer staff. A degree in computer science and project management experience is a plus. You must be willing to work in our office downtown for several months upon starting.
