Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CHCM/CSU roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay at CHCM/CSU in good faith believing it might pay for this particular job based on the circumstances at the time of posting.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Maintains effective operation of all functions and processes in the Human Resources Department with focus on the on- boarding process. Provides effective backup to the HR staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree and 1 year work experience in the Human Resources field preferred.

· Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite), strong telephone and interpersonal skills, highly organized and detail oriented.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent sitting for long periods of time. Occasional walking, standing, bending and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Occasional pulling and pushing up to 30 pounds. Corrected vision and hearing to a normal range. Finger dexterity. Occasional exposure to stressful situations.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Office environment. Occasional exposure to noise, cold, and heat. Occasional stressful situations to manage.

 

MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Staff Accountabilities

· Maintains required certification/license in a timely fashion when applicable.

· Provides appropriate notice prior to vacation/time off, and notifies supervisor a minimum of two hours prior to shift when unable to come to work.

· Observes allotted break and meal periods as prescribed by Hospital Policy and follows time clock procedures by accurately clocking in and out.

· Attends to personal affairs to avoid any interference with productivity.

· Adheres to the Dress Code.

· Demonstrates an understanding of their personal role in the case of a fire/disaster, and participates in Performance Improvement activities.

· Functions with an awareness of patient safety issues and applies basic principles of safety as identified within the facility.

· Follows the occurrence reporting policy and procedure in reporting any potential safety issues.

· Handles multiple tasks timely and accurately while receiving incoming telephone calls and answering inquiries.

· Effectively prioritizes own work well.

· Consistently demonstrates understanding of department policies and procedures and assists employees as needed.

· Effectively organizes paper flow and ensures accurate filing and timeliness of documents in personnel files, health files, I9 binder, 401(k) binder, WOTC binder, W/C, terminated employee files and any other filing needed.

· Effectively works with nursing managers to make offers ensuring there aren’t any conflicts with internal bidding, reviews applications, schedules meetings and extends offers to candidates.

· Completes verification of employment requests accurately and timely and types letters of employment for employees as requested.

· Effectively completes the on-boarding process in collaboration with the hiring managers in a timely and accurate manner ensuring all paperwork is complete and tabbing files accurately; distributes weekly on-boarding reports accurately and timely.

· Effectively assists HR Clerk with preparing for orientation, anything needed on orientation day and sorting and correcting the orientation packets after orientation is completed.

· Effectively processes new hires for contract services and interns and creates the files for new employees, ensuring all paperwork is complete and tabbing files accurately.

· Effectively completes termed employee files and maintains files in proper place.

· Effectively assists the HR Clerk in ensuring monthly birthday cards are given to the CEO and ensures timely mailing of birthday cards to employees.

· Effectively assists the HR Clerk in ensuring monthly birthday and anniversary lists are distributed hospital wide.

· Produces accurate badges in a timely manner as needed.

· Prepares packets for new hire orientation accurately and ensures packets are kept updated.

· Effectively conducts New Employee Orientation and follows up to ensure completeness of all paperwork.

· Effectively maintains the bidding log, provides weekly reports and creates status changes accurately and timely.

· Accurately maintains and distributes Open Position list and places ads as needed working with managers to ensure open positions are posted accurately.

· Assists the HR Generalist in completing all tasks needed for the Employee of the Month in a timely manner.

· Orders and maintains all office supplies in a timely and organized manner.

· Ensures all Human Resources documents and forms are maintained and copied accurately and neatly.

· Effectively researches and provides written tabulations of data and special projects as requested by Director and HR Generalist.

· Ensures HR labor posting compliance is completed as needed.

· Effectively verifies language skill competency of staff as needed.

· Effectively develops memos, forms and flyers as needed.

· Provides effective back up to the HR staff.

· Effectively performs additional duties and responsibilities as position requires and as requested.

 

Customer Service

· Exhibits behavior that is courteous, compassionate, polite, friendly, and respectful towards patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers and extends self to make patients, visitors, clinical staff, and peers feel welcome and respected.
