Overview
The Litigation Legal Assistant/Secretary will provide office administrative support within a legal environment. We are a regional law firm with offices in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire, practicing in civil litigation and insurance defense, with a focus on professional liability defense. The litigation legal assistant/secretary will work with multiple attorneys providing a full range of support. The successful candidate possesses at least 2 years recent legal litigation secretary experience. Primary Responsibilities
Provide support to up to four attorneys and backup support as needed Experience with E-filing (federal and state) Preparation and revision of correspondence, pleadings and other clerical assignments as directed Calendar management Answer phones and communicate with clients on a daily basis Assist with covering reception Run conflict checks and open new client matters as requested Maintain docketing for litigation attorneys Other general office administration functions Required Skills
At least 2 years recent legal secretarial experience within a law firm, providing administrative support in the litigation practice area; experience with insurance defense matters is a plus Typing 65+ wpm Familiarity with state and federal rules and procedures Solid understanding of technical legal terminology as well as court filings Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent proofreading skills Ability to multi-task, and timely respond to deadlines as well as balance workload Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required Experience with iManage is a plus Employment details
