The California Lawyers Association (CLA) is the Bar association for all California attorneys. We are a member-driven, mission-focused organization dedicated to the professional advancement of attorneys practicing in the state of California. CLA has eighteen Sections including the New Lawyers Section (NLS) that share an area of interest in law and each offers top-tier programs, award winning conferences, events, and provides access to outstanding legal resources. Job Summary:
The Marketing Manager will support and optimize CLA's marketing plan and strategies and will support our organizations larger marketing efforts and projects. The Marketing Manager will collaborate with our 18 Sections to prepare and execute various marketing plans to drive membership, brand awareness, and market large in-person conferences. The Marketing Manager will collaborate with external business partners who provide their products and services to our members. This collaboration includes product launches, promotions, paid marketing efforts via various channels including, but not limited to, email, website, social, display, and print channels. The Marketing Manager will also assist in the development of creative assets.
Ideal candidates for this role should be creative and innovative, multimedia savvy, well-organized, and must be excellent writers and communicators. Ultimately, the exceptional Marketing Manager should have a firm grasp of the different digital touch points, drive highly effective digital campaigns, enhance user experience, and deliver on marketing objectives. Out of town, overnight travel may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategy and development of high-impact creative, optimized for performance marketing channels and platforms from kickoff to handoff
- Project manage complex go-to-market campaigns that require input and execution from various cross-functional teams
- Partner with Communications and Web teams to drive the planning, development, and execution of marketing plans
- Work with the Communications team to develop creative and campaign strategies that maximize performance
- Leverage consumer insights, performance data, and knowledge of digital trends to provide creative direction and write actionable briefs
- Uphold platform and brand guidelines across copy, imagery, layout, message, and CTA to maximize performance-driven KPIs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop marketing and creative strategies optimized for specific audiences
- Track and analyze creative performance of ongoing campaigns, A/B and multivariate tests and apply insights to future projects and distribute learnings to cross-functional teams
- Help forecast the organizations marketing and creative needs, collaborating cross-functionally on team capacity and resource planning
- Manage external creative resources and vendors to produce content on schedule and within budget
- Stay apprised of industry trends and up-to-date on creative best practices, platform evolution, and testing opportunities
- Lead and guide strategic marketing projects (e.g., marketing-related staff quality improvement projects)
- Provide reports as needed to internal stakeholders
Skills and Requirements:
- Strong acumen for marketing strategies and execution
- Experience with A/B testing and optimizing performance marketing campaigns
- Passionate about combining the art of storytelling and the science of performance to drive a successful media program to the next level
- Collaborate with and manage deliverables from outside creative vendors, agencies, and resources
- Understand creative best practices across performance marketing channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
- Knowledge of digital marketing technologies, media buying strategies, audience targeting
- Develop marketing processes, marketing collateral, and training material
- Design graphics for various marketing projects
- Edit photos/video for marketing content
- Collaborate with Senior Executive Team to prepare and design presentations for internal and external stakeholders and for Board meetings
- Handle service launches
- Develop and source content for digital platforms
- Lead creative direction and manage the platform for the digital publication
- Develop marketing and social media guidelines
- Define most important social media KPIs
- Manage and track conversion rate optimization
- Use data and analytics to guide strategy and decision making
- Connect data-driven strategy with marketing creative
- Measure the success of every social media campaign
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree plus experience in a similar position
- Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing
- Experience with running social media campaigns, writing press releases, copywriting, copy-editing, and using web analytics
