Description
Job Summary: The Banquet Bartender is responsible for setting up, operating, and breaking down bar service during weddings, banquets, and special events. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can manage high-volume service with efficiency, professionalism, and attention to detail. As demands of banquet bar service vary, the ability to assist and service large numbers of guests expeditiously is essential. Banquet events are most frequent during April-May and September-November, with occasional events outside of those months. Summer events (June-August) are rare and typically limited to special exceptions.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and break down full-service bars, including satellite bars, for events as assigned. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standardized recipes and guest preferences. Greet guests warmly and professionally, taking and fulfilling drink orders efficiently. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar throughout the event. Monitor guest alcohol consumption and practice responsible beverage service in compliance with local laws and venue policies. Coordinate with the event coordinator and service staff to ensure seamless beverage service in a fast-paced environment. Craft and serve event-specific or signature cocktails as requested, ensuring consistency and quality in presentation and flavor. Enter drinks and complete sales on point-of-sale systems when there is a cash bar. Assist with inventory control; report low stock or supply needs to the Event Manager. Perform other related duties as requested by management to support successful event execution.
Compensation : $15.50 per hour base + gratuity (typically $30 - $50 / hour)

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and move for extended periods. Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (e.g., kegs, ice, cases of beverages). Manual dexterity and attention to detail for handling drinks and glassware. Stamina to work long shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications:
Prior bartending experience in a high-volume or banquet setting strongly preferred. Familiarity with wine, beer, classic and contemporary cocktails, and proper service standards. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive, guest-focused attitude. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing event needs. Must be of legal age to serve alcohol. ServSafe Alcohol or equivalent certification is encouraged. Experience with modern POS systems for bars is preferable.
