About bar Vetti:
We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused and highly motivated bartender/server that can swing between both positions as needed, to join our team. bar Vetti is an upscale Italian restaurant in an energetic neighborhood with a curated wine program and a focus on house made Italian fare utilizing regional flavors. As a bartender, you will be responsible for crafting expertly made cocktails and discussing wine selections to enhance the dining experience. You will be a key player in creating an inviting atmosphere where guests feel welcomed and enjoy a premium beverage experience.
**This position requires working day shifts and Sundays, some evenings will also be available.
Key Responsibilities as a bartender:
Provide friendly, knowledgeable service and engage guests with recommendations and personal interactions. Prepare a variety of beverages, including craft cocktails, espresso drinks, and wine pairings. Attend wine classes to understand wine varieties and pairings, particularly those that complement our French menu Operate the Toast POS system for accurate order processing and payments. Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized bar area. Ensure compliance with Kentucky ABC alcohol-serving guidelines. Assist in inventory management and minimize product waste. Work efficiently in a fast-paced, fine-dining environment. Collaborate with FOH & BOH teams for seamless service. Follow food safety and sanitation standards. Address issues with guests or colleagues in a timely and calm manner ensuring a positive experience for all involved. Key Responsibilities as a Server:
Maintain knowledge of the menu, ingredients, and preparation methods to provide informed recommendations. Suggest wine pairings and discuss tasting notes to enhance the dining experience. Use the Toast POS system to enter orders, manage payments, and coordinate with kitchen and bar staff. Ensure proper table maintenance, timing of courses, and smooth service flow. Address guest concerns professionally and efficiently. Follow food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations (ID verification and responsible serving). Maintain a clean and organized work area and complete post-shift duties. Support FOH and BOH teams for a collaborative, efficient service. Engage with guests to discuss wines, regions, and tasting notes, ensuring an elevated experience. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices, including proper hand washing, FIFO (first in, first out), and cleaning protocols. Adhere to health department standards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Ensure that all workstations, coolers, and storage areas are stocked, organized, and properly cleaned throughout the shift. Complete all side work, including resetting tables, polishing silverware and restocking service stations. Obtain and maintain necessary certifications, including Health Department certification and STAR certification, to comply with food safety and alcohol service regulations. Compliance with Alcohol Laws & ID Verification What We're Looking For:
Experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant service. Strong knowledge of food, wine, and beverage pairings (Italian cuisine experience is a plus). Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while multitasking. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. This position requires Sunday schedule and day shifts. Physical Demands:
Standing, walking, and moving for extended periods. Lifting up to 40 lbs unassisted. Working in a busy, dynamic restaurant environment with temperature variations.
