Job Summary:
Internship Program Assistant Sentry School of Business and Economics (SSBE) University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
Accountability:
Reports to the Director of Internships. Provides operational and administrative support for the SSBE Internship Program.
Scope of Responsibility:
The Internship Program Assistant plays a central role in helping coordinate the SSBE Internship Program. This includes managing student authorization workflows, supporting employer communication, and organizing the Internship Expo-one of the school's largest recurring events.
Specific Duties:
Internship Program Support
Assist students in the internship credit authorization process, including tracking submissions and communicating deadlines
Maintain program databases and records accurately and confidentially
Respond to student and employer inquiries related to internship opportunities
Event Coordination
Help plan and execute the Internship Expo, held three times a year
Communicate with employers and departments to organize logistics and registration
Promote the event through email outreach and on-campus marketing
Administrative Support
Attend weekly check-in meetings with the Director of Internships
Maintain a consistent work schedule, with flexibility around academic demands
Track and report tasks and hours; complete personnel documentation as required
Skills/Requirements:
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Comfort with email platforms, spreadsheets, and online forms
Professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities
Qualifications and Compensation:
• Must be enrolled in at least 12 undergraduate credits during the semester • Must be in good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA • Must be able to work approximately 6-10 hours per week between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. • $14 per hour (partially funded through the UWSP Pathways Internship Program) • Eligible for internship or experiential learning credit if approved by academic department

Gain hands-on experience in professional communication, project coordination, and event planning
Strengthen their problem-solving and interpersonal skills in a real-world office environment
Set and work toward two individualized professional development goals in collaboration with their supervisor
