Construction Bookkeeper – Full Charge | Pleasant Valley, NY
Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: 8:00am–4:30pm (some flexibility)
Location: Pleasant Valley; On-site (No Remote)

Our client, a locally owned construction company in Pleasant Valley, NY, is seeking a skilled Construction Bookkeeper (Full Charge) to join their team. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential for the right candidate.

The ideal applicant will have construction industry accounting experience, be highly organized, and proficient in QuickBooks and Excel. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy keeping financials accurate and projects on track, this could be the role for you.

Construction Bookkeeper Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Handle Work-in-Progress (WIP) billing for construction projects
• Reconcile bank statements and balance accounts regularly
• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and subsidiary accounts
• Prepare weekly cash flow projections and financial reports
• Ensure timely and accurate posting of transactions
• Support the financial close process and assist with job costing

Construction Bookkeeper Qualifications

• 1+ year of bookkeeping/accounting experience (construction industry preferred)
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (required)
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
• Experience with job costing and additional accounting software is a plus
