I am partnered with an extremely successful mechanical company based in Long Island, New York that has been in business for twenty eight years. They give true meaning to what it means to be a family business, and you will report directly to the owner and CEO. Trust and dedication are of the outmost importance as they are looking for their next Bookkeeper / Office Manager. This position is five days a week in the office and a strong benefits package.

Responsibilities:

• Perform full cycle AR / AP functions
• Strong experience with AIA contract documents
• Work directly with project managers on job costing
• Prepare weekly payroll using Paypro
• Assist CPA firm with all semiannual documents
• Knowledge of COI, worker compensation, bonding and annual audits
• Prepare NYS sales tax return and have knowledge of capital improvements
• Utilize QuickBooks for management of all financial transactions
• Handle all Human Resource related manners such as onboarding, offboarding, attendance, insurance and 401(k)

Qualifications:

• 8 + years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Deep knowledge of the construction industry in a must
• Strong knowledge of AR, AP and general accounting
• Experience with payroll
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Experience with AIA Construction document programs
