Job Description:
As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. This role requires general supervision and adherence to established policies and procedures.
You will verify patient identity and review patients medical record for appropriateness of exam or procedure. You will also interview patients to obtain, verify or update medical history and assess risk factors such as medications, pregnancy and/or psychological indicators.
Additionally, you will explain the procedure to the patient, including side effects of pharmaceuticals administered, risks, benefits, alternatives and follow-up. You will set up equipment and acquire appropriate images as per script, review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols and communicate data to radiologist.
You will recognize and respond to medical emergencies as appropriate, provide physician-prescribed post care instructions to patients and participate in process improvement activities within radiology practice.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or Computed Tomography (CT)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training
- One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology or advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT)
