Computed Tomography Technologist
We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography (CT) technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CT imaging and be able to provide high-quality patient care.
Job Description
The CT technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic CT exams using appropriate imaging equipment. This will include verifying patient identity, reviewing medical records, interviewing patients to obtain and verify medical history, and assessing risk factors such as medications and pregnancy indicators. The technologist will also explain procedures to patients, including side effects of pharmaceuticals administered, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up instructions.
Additionally, the CT technologist will set up equipment, acquire images according to script, review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to radiologists. They will recognize and respond to medical emergencies as needed, provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients, and participate in process improvement activities within the radiology practice.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or Computed Tomography (CT)
- One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology or advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT)
- Analytical and clinical skills necessary to determine the most age-appropriate method of providing requested radiographs specific to patient's physical ability and/or limitations
- Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to deal effectively with and instruct patients who may be under physical/emotional stress; ability to comprehend and follow physicians' verbal and written requests and prescriptions
- Technical knowledge necessary to operate equipment including but not limited to all specialized equipment and computers
