Adelphi is seeking a licensed Family Medicine Physician to provide full-time care at a state-operated residential facility in Denton County, Texas. The physician will care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, and specialists. The physician must possess the ability to exercise independent clinical judgment in the delivery of care. Job Quick Facts: Reference #: BD-673-33 Job Title: Family Medicine Physician Profession: Physician Specialty: Family Medicine Location: Denton County, Texas Facility Type: State-operated residential facility Job Type: Contract (6-month assignment) Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (Full-Time, On-Site) Start Date: Tentative September 1, 2025 (pending completion of onboarding and compliance) Requirements: Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas (no sanctions) Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (preferred) Valid and current DEA and Texas DPS Controlled Substance registration Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) Enrolled and eligible to bill under Medicare Part B and Texas Medicaid Current CPR certification (must remain valid throughout the assignment) Must complete all required onboarding, background checks, and training mandated by the agency and facility Must be capable of independent clinical decision-making and judgment Responsibilities: Provide primary and specialized care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team planning and advocate for patient medical needs Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic tests and clinical evaluations Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions (e.g., hypertension, asthma, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis) Prescribe medications, therapies, immunizations, and other treatments Educate patients and caregivers on health maintenance, hygiene, and disease prevention Maintain timely and accurate documentation in compliance with HHSC and facility standards Ensure compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, CMS guidelines, and internal directives
