Full-Time, Contract-to-hire Base pay range
$40.00/hr - $55.00/hr Position Summary
As a Mid-Level IT Security Specialist, you will play a key role in protecting the organization’s digital assets. You’ll work closely with IT, compliance, and business units to implement security protocols, monitor threats, and respond to incidents. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in cybersecurity and a passion for proactive defense. Key Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM tools and other sources. Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in remediation efforts. Manage endpoint protection, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Support incident response efforts, including investigation, documentation, and resolution. Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures. Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, SOC 2). Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configuration of systems and applications. Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. 3–5 years of experience in IT security or cybersecurity roles. Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements. Experience with tools such as Splunk, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, or similar. Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud security. Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH are a plus. Compensation:
$40-55/hr Benefits
