Overview
What you will be doing! As an IT Field Support Specialist, you will provide Tier 2 and 3 on-site and remote support for computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment. You will conduct site surveys, assess and document current site configuration and user requirements, analyze existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions, develop hardware installation schedules, prepare drawings documenting configuration changes at each site, and prepare site installation and test reports.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 and 3 on-site and remote support for computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.
- Conduct site surveys; assess and document current site configuration and user requirements; analyze requirements and prepare hardware specifications for acquisitions.
- Develop hardware installation schedules; prepare drawings documenting configuration changes at each site; prepare site installation and test reports.
Qualifications
- Skilled in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals; well-versed in installing Windows, software, applications, antivirus and patches.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and test computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access).
- Support network upgrade projects or initiatives; support end-user connectivity needs.
- Time management and prioritization; ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision; proficient in working with end-users remotely.
- Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Windows 7 and 10; familiar with Active Directory security and policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; maintain government and vendor-manufactured fiber optic modems, multiplexers, fiber optic/Ethernet cables & telephone systems.
- Outstanding communication skills to relate with team members and support workers.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs; valid driver for company vehicle; availability to work an 8-hour shift between 6am and 6pm as determined by management.
Education and Experience
- High school/GED with at least five (5) years of experience. Equivalent education and experience: associate degree and two (2) years of experience.
- Security+ certification.
Clearance
Clearance Required: Must possess an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role.
