Summary

: Responsible for assisting operators with daily operations of equipment, driving production, quality, etc. Maintain housekeeping and 5S to standards set by management. Follow all WestRock Core Values and Behaviors. Additional job duties as assigned by department manager. Safety: Required PPE must be worn while on your job. At a minimum safety glass, steel toe shoes and hearing protection. Gloves are always required on the production floor and warehouses. Please see Appendix A and Appendix B (Conover Specific) attached to the WestRock Glove Policy (CompliantPro). Bump cap per company policy Required All safety policies and guidelines must be followed. C ollection system. Testing and Measuring Ability (General Math): Ability to use and read basic measurement devices, (calculator, tape measure, and ruler.) Learn to operate testing devices (i.e. Chatillon, E J Caddy, Mettler PM 480, Fluke IR Thermometer. Lift truck (fork-lift) certification (if needed) and pallet jack operation. General mechanical aptitude. Pass Farnsworth Munsel-100 Hue Test. Written/Verbal Communications Skills: Must follow detailed instructions for training and quality. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. Knowledge of Cartons: Perform quality checks on cartons being processed.

Essential/Marginal Functions and Physical Requirements

:

Essential: Lift cartons onto belt. Pack cartons into corrugated boxes. Marginal: May be required to work in flat pack/sorting as needed.

Expectations/Guidelines: Check job specifications to materials in use. Place cartons on belt maintaining proper stack height, carton direction, and ensure stack is straight Change pallets and/or loads Determine packing specifications Pack cartons using automatic packer or hand packs cartons Perform quality audits during production and pack finished cartons into corrugated cases If you operate Cello, stop the machine before the film rolls run out and perform film changeover, add glue to glue pots or adjust the film as needed If operating straight line, ability to start the machine after a jam and put belts on. Assure completion of job(s) and/or form(s) Assist operator in driving production, Safety 5S, and quality Read and understand schedule Perform PM as directed by operator Maintenance related functions Perform detection system test.
