Overview
The Senior Director of People and Culture will be responsible for strategic, visionary, and operational decisions and performance of all People and Culture programs under Masonic Health System’s umbrella. This includes HR strategic planning, workforce planning & talent management, recruitment & retention of staff, total compensation & benefits plan development, HR policy development, training & leadership development, employee relations, organization-wide performance management systems, organizational development, and Team Member relations management.
Principle Duties / Essential Functions
Develops, implements, and maintains the strategic vision for all People and Culture programs.
Direct supervision of the Director of Employee Relations & Benefits and Manager of Recruitment, providing support to the People and Culture Department as a whole.
Consultative guidance, support, and direction of all People and Culture programs under Overlook, in coordination with the CEO and business entity leaders.
Consistently monitors and maintains a pulse on the culture of the organization as a priority, and uses all tools and resources available, including but not limited to chat sessions, pulse surveys, organization-wide surveys, one-on-ones, and group sessions, to understand cultural wins and opportunities.
Analyzes trends and prepares critical metrics to ensure competitive advantage in industry and specific markets.
Accountable for managing the People and Culture Team Members and budget.
Identifies training needs and develop training programs to meet organizational current and future needs.
Designs, directs, and administers compensation programs that reinforce the accomplishment of organizational objectives. Develop salary range structures, incentive & recognition programs, as well as merit increase guidelines/budgets in collaboration with CEO and CFO.
Leads and provides oversight on performance management philosophy, programs, and tools.
Develops strategy and provides oversight for all employee benefit programs. This includes group insurance plans, retirement, and paid time off plans.
Partners with Team Members and Management to resolve employee relations and workplace conflict issues as they arise in a timely manner, with support from Senior Leadership when needed.
Maintains a human resource information system (HRIS) and other HR-related automated tools to facilitate management decisions and automate administrative processes.
Oversees The Overlook/MHS corporate compliance programs, policies, and reporting
Qualifications
3+ years of Senior-level experience - required
Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or equivalent - required
Master’s Degree, including but not limited to a Master of Science in Human Resources or MBA - preferred
Minimum of 10 years of proven operational experience in leadership and staff supervision. Proven track record of increasing responsibility and has strong generalist human resource experience and practice at the senior leadership level - required
Minimum of 10 years of proven operational experience in staff development, training, and supervision: ideally has worked in a leadership role using performance management and metrics for success; proven ability to develop and lead diverse work teams across multi-functional areas - required
Solid history of leadership effectiveness that demonstrates results in a growth organization. Health Care and/or Senior Living experience - required
SHRM or HRCI certifications - preferred
Proven experience leading teams and organizations through cultural changes, with extensive knowledge of how to root cause, assess, and address to further build a Culture of Service Excellence.
Thorough knowledge of all federal, state, and local Employment regulations.
Extensive experience with change management and transitioning of organizations, including partnerships, affiliations, and mergers and acquisitions.
Extensive P&L responsibilities, including knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, accounting & management expertise.
