The Diagnostics Software Services team is seeking two Co-Op Software Integration Engineers to join our team in Akron, Ohio starting in Spring 2026. These individuals will be part of a dynamic group of engineers responsible for documenting, deploying, validating, and supporting newborn screening software applications in North American laboratories. Our team provides software tools that manage our customers' laboratory workflow and help enable the early detection of certain life-threatening genetic and metabolic disorders in newborn babies. If detected and treated soon enough, most babies will be able to live healthy, normal lives. The Software Integration Co-Op position requires constant team and customer interaction. In this position you will learn how to use, configure, and support our software, work with customers to determine and document their requirements, and support their processes. In addition, you will gain an understanding of the science behind genetic screening. The Software Integration Co-Op position relies on the following tools: Microsoft SQL Server and Visual Basic. It is not a "development" or "programmer" position, so if you don't have training and/or experience in any of these technologies that's ok. We'll work with you on an appropriate training plan - whether your strengths lie with some of the tools we use or you have a strong science background with an interest in computers, we'll find the best fit for you. What's most important is that you have an interest in the healthcare field as a career! Requirements: Interest in health & life sciences industries Ability to function both independently and on multi-disciplinary teams Strong problem solving ability and technical aptitude Excellent communication skills Attention to detail Willingness to learn Drive to succeed Pride in your work Basic Qualifications: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field (Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, etc.). Applicants must hold at least a sophomore status at an accredited university. Availability: Ideal candidates will be available for co-op rotations in Spring 2026, Fall 2026, and Summer 2027.
