  • Guide students in understanding authors' claims and the importance of sourcing, while honing their skills in argumentation and historiography through primary and secondary source analysis.
  • Create an inclusive and safe classroom environment where students feel empowered to express their evidence-based opinions.
  • Collaborate with the History department to set academic and engagement goals for students.

2. Data Analysis

  • Engage in weekly meetings with your principal and/or instructional coach to analyze student work and assessment trends.

  • Collaborate with your grade-level team to develop academic goals and instructional strategies.
Qualifications
  • A strong commitment to supporting students’ social-emotional and academic development.
  • A passion for collaboration with internal and external partners for the benefit of students.
  • A self-directed learner who actively seeks and implements feedback to enhance outcomes.
  • Required Experience:
    • 1-2 years of experience impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities is preferred.
    • Academic expertise in Education, History, Geography, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, or the Humanities.
    • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required prior to employment. Certification is not mandatory at hiring, but you must meet NY state certification eligibility requirements and enroll in a teacher preparation program if you do not have a degree in education.
