Tenet Healthcare Position Summary Leads in development and implementation of facility business strategy. Responsible for guiding strategic direction across Tenet facilities in Arizona, focusing on market development and service line growth, physician engagement, and cross-functional leadership. Market and Facility Overview Arizona Market – Phoenix Market: Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital (Phoenix), 59 beds; Abrazo Arrowhead Campus (Glendale), 217 beds; Abrazo Central Campus (Phoenix), 221 beds; Abrazo Scottsdale Campus (Phoenix), 136 beds; Abrazo West Campus (Goodyear), 188 beds. Tucson Market – Carondelet Holy Cross Hospital (Nogales), 25 beds; Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital (Tucson), 486 beds; Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital (Tucson), 400 beds. Group: Involvement with urgent care, micro hospitals, acquisitions and service expansion. Travel: Up to 20% locally and into Tucson. Key Responsibilities Develops and implements strategy which leads to improvement in market share consistent with Tenet Healthcare’s mission and core values. Uses data to analyze market dynamics, trends and competition and implements strategies to meet market demand. Assesses market development strategy and industry trends to generate innovative ideas to improve the current business plan and achieve desired results. Demonstrates financial management and analytics skills while leading the annual business planning process and preparing forecasts. Advises CEOs in the development and execution of short- and long-term strategies. Establishes and influences others to achieve goals, targets, and metrics aligned with strategic and operational objectives. Demonstrates excellent formal presentation and interpersonal communication skills to gain understanding and commitment to strategic initiatives. Leads senior executive teams in advancing short- and long-term strategic plans. Aids in Service Line Development Identifies, evaluates, and gains consensus for development or expansion of inpatient and/or outpatient services and programs based on community need, quality, growth, and/or service in the market. Collaborates with hospital/department leaders to develop strategic service lines ensuring physician engagement to achieve results in quality, service, operations, and financial metrics. Understands operational components necessary to implement a new or expanded service line, including capital, equipment, people, education, quality metrics and costs. Monitors and assesses service line performance by key performance indicators (volume, outcomes, market shares, etc.). Gathers competitive intelligence from the community on service line opportunities. Leads discussions with physicians, community-based facilities, local payers, providers, and employers to gain information related to collaboration and support for strategic initiatives and service line development. Works with Tenet facilities and partners to develop network opportunities and service line enhancements. Works to Meet Community Need through Recruitment of Physicians Supports Provider Outreach Program priorities, identifies outreach partners, and develops strategies and metrics while monitoring progress toward service line goals and physician recruitment activity. Ensures community, physician and longitudinal care partners are aware of new initiatives and addresses service issues that may impact program development. Plans, organizes, and directs strategies that develop physician relationships and manpower plans consistent with facility service line plans and community need. Collaborates with physician recruiters to fulfill community needs in line with service line requirements. Maintains high visibility among the physician community and fosters physician loyalty and patient experience improvements. Analyzes Data to Make Fact-Based Decisions Studies internal and external data trends to identify opportunities to better serve the community. Identifies and evaluates new business opportunities based on research and analysis. Monitors internal data to understand driving forces of business variables and takes corrective action as needed. Demonstrates competency in utilizing data to inform decisions. Leads Consumer Engagement and Improves Customer Experience Executes marketing plans that differentiate services based on quality, service, and outcomes with measurable ROI. Leads efforts to educate consumers about care options and enhance patient experience. Delivers consumer engagement strategies within budgeted guidelines that create differentiation and awareness in the market. Candidate Experience, Attributes and Education Requirements Minimum of five years of experience in Strategic Planning and Healthcare Strategy/Development is required. Experience developing complex business plans and using data to drive strategy is a must. Knowledge of healthcare organization and administration and applicable standards and laws related to strategy and planning in facility operations. Knowledge of healthcare, strategic and financial planning. Proven financial management skills with a focus on P&L and timely objective completion. Knowledge of interactive planning, participatory management and influence management. Skilled at executing strategy and problem solving, identifying trends, and developing business plans and proformas.
