Application Developer, AVP

To design, develop and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives. Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability. Architect and implement robust, scalable, and secure MongoDB infrastructure to support critical applications. Develop and maintain automation scripts for provisioning and configuration management using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools. Design, develop, and maintain shell scripts (ash/bash) for PGP encryption and decryption of files transferred between clients and internal systems. Ensure encryption processes comply with security standards and client requirements. Automate the execution of encryption scripts to enhance efficiency and security. Deploy and manage MongoDB and Cosmos DB (MongoDB flavor) instances on Azure (and AWS) cloud platform/s. Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using Terraform for repeatable and consistent environment setups. Monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations. Conduct comprehensive capacity planning for a MongoDB estate comprising over 400 servers and deployments with up to 10 shards. Analyze database performance metrics and optimize queries to improve response times and overall efficiency. Implement indexing strategies, query optimization techniques, and database tuning best practices. Identify opportunities to reduce infrastructure costs through consolidation, resource optimization, and efficient provisioning. Implement cost-saving measures and track their impact on overall expenditure. Continuously evaluate and improve the resilience and reliability of database deployments. Develop and maintain scripts to automate resilience and failover procedures for MongoDB deployments. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery (DR) capabilities are in place and regularly tested. Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively address potential issues. Identify and remediate vulnerabilities within the MongoDB estate and associated servers. Design and implement security solutions to protect against emerging threats. Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Proactive maintenance for Ops Manager, and MongoDB Enterprise. Apply ITIL principles to enhance Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes. Develop and implement service improvement plans to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of data platform engineering services. Provide training and mentorship to junior team members on ITIL best practices. Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $179,982 per year Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $197,981 per year The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
