Senior Buyer

The Senior Buyer is responsible for leading global sourcing, supplier negotiations, and end-to-end procurement of neodymium magnets and related components. This role requires deep expertise in international trade, logistics management, and supplier development to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance. The Senior Buyer will play a key role in maintaining lean inventory levels, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations. Key Result Areas (KRAs)

Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation

Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for neodymium magnets and related materials. Lead negotiations on contracts, payment terms, and incoterms to maximize value while mitigating risks. Monitor commodity pricing trends and implement cost-control strategies.

Supplier Management & Development

Build and sustain relationships with international and domestic suppliers. Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations using quality, cost, and delivery metrics. Identify and qualify new suppliers to strengthen the global supply base.

Inventory & Logistics Oversight

Manage demand forecasting, replenishment planning, and safety stock levels to align with customer demand. Oversee import/export documentation, freight forwarding, and customs compliance. Collaborate with warehouse and operations to ensure timely delivery and minimal disruptions.

Trade Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure all procurement activities adhere to U.S. and international trade regulations. Mitigate supply chain risks through dual sourcing, supplier diversification, and contingency planning.

Quoting & Cost Analysis

Drive accurate and timely RFQ turnaround to support Sales and Customer Service. Perform total landed cost analysis, including tariffs, duties, and freight. Collaborate cross-functionally to support margin improvement initiatives.

Skills & Competencies

Advanced knowledge of international trade, incoterms, and global logistics. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Proven supplier development and vendor management expertise. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and procurement analytics. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated ability to drive cost savings and process improvements.
