JOB DESCRIPTION
General Responsibilities: Dutchmans Pipe - is seeking an energetic, service-focused Tennis Shop Attendant to support the daily operations of our luxury racquet sports facility. As the face of the Tennis Shop, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming and polished retail and hospitality experience for members and their guests. This position blends retail expertise, administrative support, and member interaction, making it ideal for someone with a passion for both tennis and high-end customer service. Whether you're assisting with the selection of premium apparel and racquets, scheduling court times, or supporting tournaments and events, your role is essential in maintaining the standard of excellence Dutchmans Pipe Club is known for. A love for retail, an eye for presentation, and a genuine enthusiasm for member service are musts. Responsibilities:
Assist members and guests with tennis apparel, racquet, and accessory purchases with a polished, professional demeanor Maintain the presentation of all retail displays, folding and restocking merchandise, and ensuring all products are clean, current, and appealing Accurately operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for all purchases, returns, and member charges Assist with monthly inventory checks, receiving new merchandise, and tagging items Greet all members and guests warmly upon entry to the Tennis Shop Assist with court reservations, private lesson bookings, and racquet stringing requests (or coordinate with staff for fulfillment) Communicate professionally and clearly regarding tennis programs, event sign-ups, and club policies Support tennis tournaments and social events by preparing materials, prizes, refreshments, and registration areas Answer phones and respond to inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner Maintain a clean and organized shop environment at all times Assist with daily opening and closing duties including balancing the register, restocking supplies, and preparing for the next days activities Maintain records for lessons, court usage, and member preferences Qualifications: Education & Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in hospitality, retail management, or business is a plus
Minimum of 1 year experience in retail, hospitality, or front desk operationspreferably in a private club or luxury environment
Strong interest in tennis, pickleball, or racquet sports preferred; general knowledge of the game and gear is helpful
Prior experience with POS systems, scheduling software, or inventory management tools is a plus
Working Conditions Position involves extended periods of standing, walking, and light physical activity such as lifting boxes (up to 30 lbs)
Primarily indoors with occasional outdoor duties during events or tournaments
Required to wear a clean, professional uniform in accordance with Dutchmans Pipe Club standards
During the season, must be able to work weekends, holidays and/or evenings if required
