Overview Citi’s Commercial Bank (CCB) for the North American (NAM) region is a rapidly growing business, targeting emerging, mid- and larger-sized companies based in the United States or Canada, with annual revenue generally from $20 million to $1 billion plus. To facilitate the CCB’s wholesale lending activities, Commercial Lending Management (CLM) serves as an in-business credit function organized around strategic industries and global target markets. CLM plays a critical role in the client delivery model for the CCB, translating thought-leadership, industry and product expertise, and end-to-end ownership of the credit relationship into best-in-class lending solutions. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated credit professional to join the NAM CLM Digital Tech & Comms team.

Responsibilities

Facilitate the end-to-end lending process within the NAM CCB for the assigned relationships and portfolio

Rapidly develop knowledge of the assigned portfolio and industry, and create well-supported analyses that balance risk and business objectives

Ensure appropriate regulatory classification and minimize net credit losses for the covered portfolio; identify emerging areas of concern for escalation

Produce underlying analysis and workflow supporting underwriting requests for new-to-bank and existing credit relationships, including pre-screening opportunities, amendments and extensions, annual reviews, and related diligence

Prepare monthly and/or quarterly financial memos to track covenant compliance, raise concerns, and coordinate actions with stakeholders

Coordinate loan documentation for new transactions and amendments/modifications with internal partners and outside counsel to ensure terms are reflected in closing documents

Attend periodic portfolio reviews and select opportunities in partnership with CLM Credit Officer and Relationship Management

Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of Citi and CCB credit products and services

Mentor and develop junior staff and support resources to become effective contributors

Recommend and champion process improvements to achieve greater efficiency and controls

Proactively work with internal and external stakeholders to keep transactions moving forward within control requirements

Qualifications

1–3 years of banking, finance, or related experience in credit underwriting, portfolio and/or risk management with a multinational financial services organization

Knowledge of basic accounting and financial concepts and their practical application in credit underwriting

Excellent communication (written, verbal, presentation, and listening) and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities

Demonstrates learning agility and the ability to apply new knowledge quickly to different situations

Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation applications, including data visualization

Bachelor’s degree; advanced degrees or certifications considered but not required
