Clearance Associate

The Clearance Associate utilizes intermediate-level skills and knowledge to process the receipt and delivery of equity and debt securities through the DTCC and Federal Reserve settlement systems. The role involves working with multiple reports and databases to facilitate accurate trade settlements and actively participating in daily balancing and reconciliation efforts. The associate communicates with internal departments and external contra firms to resolve trade discrepancies and fails, supports record-keeping activities, and assists with functions related to the buy-in desk. Flexibility to work overtime may be required during periods of high trade volume or reconciliation demands. Cross-training across various departmental functions is expected to support team agility and operational continuity. This position follows a hybrid-friendly schedule, so you get the best of both worlds flexibility and collaboration. In office days will be three per week averaging 12 days per month in one of the following locations: St. Petersburg, FL or Southfield, MI. Responsibilities: Conduct data entry into company systems, and review and verify the information to ensure accuracy and accessibility. Carry out operational tasks by following established processes. Use standard office software to carry out basic formatting of letters, memoranda, and routine reports. Maintain files and records. Ensure a positive experience for internal clients by having courteous interactions with them. Assess compliance with established standards and protocols for routine inquiries. Support others by carrying out basic data management tasks. Follow a range of mandatory procedures to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct. Develop and maintain excellent procedural or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Knowledge of: Basic mathematical/bookkeeping skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, averages and balancing sufficient to complete settlement. DTC and Fed depository settlement rules and time cut-offs. 15c-3 possession and control rules regarding customer fully paid securities and fail resolution. Reg T as applicable to DVP accounts. MSRB Rule G-12 municipal close outs. General office practices, procedures, and methods. General accounting procedures. Skills: Supports business processes with guidance but not constant supervision by understanding and effectively using standard office equipment and standard software packages. Uses clear and effective elementary verbal communications skills under supervision to express ideas, request actions and formulate plans or policies. Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to plan, organize, prioritize and oversee activities to efficiently meet business objectives. Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to develop appropriate plans or perform necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements. Works under guidance (but not constant supervision) to analyze data trends for use in reports to help guide decision making. Uses an understanding of numerical concepts to perform mathematical operations such as report analysis under supervision. Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to develop, monitor, interpret and understand policies and procedures, while making sure they match organizational strategies and objectives. Works to select, deploy and get the best results from the most appropriate office system.
