The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company is seeking to hire an Estimator to join our growing team! Conduct site visits to gather relevant data and assess project conditions. Utilize estimating software and industry knowledge to ensure precision in cost calculations. Prepare comprehensive bids and proposals in response to RFPs and other tender documents. Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing. Work closely with project managers and superintendents to ensure that cost estimates align with budgetary constraints. Collaborate on value engineering and cost-saving measures without compromising project quality. Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates and propose mitigation strategies. Evaluate contractual terms and conditions to ensure alignment with company standards. Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to clarify project requirements and resolve inquiries. Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all estimating activities. Stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and advancements in construction technology. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or have related field equivalent experience (Journeyman Lineman, Journeyman Substation Tech, etc). Proven experience as an Estimator in the utility construction industry. Proficiency in construction estimating software Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Project, Excel, Word, etc) and/or Primavera P6 Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry best practices. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. Effective communication and negotiation abilities. Adherence to safety standards and regulations.
