Position Summary
Responsible for strategic and tactical procurement activities for a defined commodity, from customer award through end of production, potentially on a regional or global scale. Essential Responsibilities
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodities. Negotiate supplier contracts, LTAs, volume pricing, commercial conditions, and NDAs. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to drive standardization and strategy execution. Define current and future global needs for specific commodities. Evaluate market supply, process, and technology trends. Source materials that meet specifications at competitive costs. Support supplier nominations and new business awards. Participate in APQP activities and support on-time product launches. Ensure continuous material supply without disruption. Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement through negotiations. Manage pricing strategies, including initial pricing, price changes, and total cost analysis. Manage tooling contracts, prototype purchases, and vendor qualification processes. Maintain ERP system data integrity and liaise with suppliers to improve performance. Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering, business, or relevant field. Minimum five years of automotive industry purchasing experience, including Tier I responsibilities. Experience in global matrix organizations. Strong negotiation skills and strategy development experience. Proficiency in English, verbal and written. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel. Travel Requirements
Approximately 10% travel, domestic and international. Core Competencies
