Planner/Estimator Lead
Operations Full-Time On-site Fort Eustis, VA 23604, USA Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Monitor and provide effective performance feedback to team members through recognition, coaching, and disciplinary action with the assistance of the project HR Business Partner. Provide proper flow of communication from upper management to team members and vice versa. Supervise the day-to-day operations of the department. Supervise, hire, and evaluation of assigned staff to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems. Provide performance feedback and address disciplinary issues. Consult with clients and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate project scope. Prepare estimates, working folders, purchase orders, and other required information necessary for the proper execution of the work. Oversee coordination of projects from inspection to close out and update the project manager on the project progress activities. Monitor and inspect the work in progress to ensure that work is being performed as planned, and in compliance with safety codes and safety regulations. Review and analyze design documents to develop time, cost, materials, and labor estimates EDUCATION/TRAINING Bachelor's degree preferred in construction, architecture, or civil engineering. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. SKILLS/ABILITIES Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization. Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other job-related software. Excellent ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines. WORK ENVIRONMENT Office-setting work environment. This role is 75% office and 25% at work sites. Must be able to work 7am -4pm Monday thru Friday unless special circumstance SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test. Must possess a valid State Driver's License. Must complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives. Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) per contract. Must be proficient in the English Language per contract.
