Overview
BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking Database Management Specialist (Senior) for the MD and PA areas. These positions are full-time, remote roles with travel to other Government or Contractor facilities as required in PA and MD. The average workday is 8 hours, with scheduling between 6:00am and 6:00pm eastern time, Monday through Friday, except for Government Holidays, with core hours (9am to 3pm) covered. Responsibilities
Provide highly technical expertise and support in the use of database management system (DBMS) technologies. Evaluate and recommend available DBMS products to support validated user requirements. Define file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications. Develop, implement, and maintain database backup and recovery procedures for processing environments. Ensure data integrity, security, and recoverability are built into DBMS applications. Basic Qualifications
The position requires a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or a related scientific or technical discipline; OR three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field. Specialized Experience
At least three (3) years of experience using current DBMS technologies, design of applications utilizing various database management systems, and experience with DBMS internals. At least six (6) years of experience in DBMS systems analysis and programming. Citizenship Requirement
U.S. Citizenship is required. This position is restricted to U.S. citizens only in accordance with federal contract requirements.
