Overview We are seeking a Staff Actuator Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of electromechanical actuators for next-generation lightweight electric vehicles. This role offers full ownership of actuator systems, from concept through production, with the opportunity to work cross-functionally with electrical and firmware teams. Key Responsibilities

Design and develop electromechanical actuators, motors, servo drives, and precision mechanisms. Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing documentation. Integrate actuator systems with electrical and firmware teams, ensuring smooth hardware/software interaction. Perform modeling, simulation, and system-level analysis using MATLAB/Simulink and CAE tools (e.g., Ansys, Abaqus, HyperWorks). Define and execute validation plans, DFMEAs, and DVP&Rs in coordination with suppliers. Build and test prototypes, analyze performance data, and iterate designs for reliability and scalability. Collaborate cross-functionally to meet technical, cost, and timing targets.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in electromechanical actuator or motion system design. Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience). Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD (CATIA V5/V6) and GD&T. Advanced modeling and simulation capabilities (MATLAB/Simulink, Ansys, Abaqus, HyperWorks). Strong knowledge of motors, servo drives, sensors, and material properties under high-stress conditions. Experience with DVP&R execution, DFMEA development, and supplier coordination. Programming proficiency in Python, C, or C++ for system integration and controls. Prior experience in rigorous, high-performance engineering environments (e.g., automotive, robotics, aerospace).

Soft Skills

Strong cross-disciplinary collaboration skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
