Provides caring companionship and conversation. Provides escort services, supervision and assistance to resident when shopping, running errands and going to medical appointments. Encourages resident to be active and encourages independence. Supervises and/or assists resident with household tasks that the resident cannot do independently. Assists with pet care if resident requires assistance. Assists in maintaining a safe environment. Keeps supervisor informed of client status. Follows all policies and procedures of the company. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Strong customer service skills and passion for working with older adults. Household skills in cooking and cleaning. English fluency including speaking, reading, and writing. Ability to navigate through a cell phone application for personal timekeeping and plan of care for our residents. Current first aid and CPR certification or must obtain within 3 months of hire. Preferred Qualifications: One year or more experience working with seniors. Six months or more experience working with seniors providing dementia level care. Experience in caregiving. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to move throughout the building and grounds as needed throughout the day. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. Good visual and hearing acuity required. May be exposed to communicable diseases, and blood and body fluids that may contain HIV and/or HBV. May be exposed to cleaning chemicals and offensive odors.
