Accounts Payable Specialist

The primary responsibility of this position is to liaise with vendors and other departments to resolve issues, follow the company's accounts payable and vendor maintenance policies, and ensure compliance with SOX requirements. The role requires adaptability to changing workloads. Responsibilities: Enter accounts payable in various ERP and sub-ledger systems, including Oracle EBS. Manage the accounts payable email inbox and respond or direct inquiries as needed. Ensure invoices, cheque requests, and employee expense claims are appropriately supported, coded, and approved. Prepare vendor and account reconciliations. Ensure accuracy of indirect taxes, GST, PST, and non-resident tax withholding; identify and calculate self-assessments when required. Liaise with the Treasury team to ensure timely payments based on priority. Coordinate with divisions to resolve invoicing issues. Prepare reports as required by management. Essential Skills: Proficiency in accounts payable, invoice processing, accounting, and reconciliation. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of three-way matching. 3-5 years of accounts payable experience. Experience with JD Edwards and/or Oracle. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Intermediate to advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and pivot tables. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications: High School Diploma required. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred. Work Environment: This position operates within a corporate office setting. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
