Fiscal Analysis Division Administrative Services Specialist
The Legislative Counsel Bureau (LCB) is seeking a diverse pool of qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Services Specialist within the Fiscal Analysis Division. The LCB is a nonpartisan, legislative service agency that provides professional, technical and administrative support to the Nevada Legislature, which convenes biennially in odd-numbered years for 120-day sessions and for rare special sessions during the interim periods. The Fiscal Analysis Division is responsible for performing independent review and analysis of budgetary and fiscal matters for the Nevada Legislature, including an in-depth review of the Governor's biennial budget recommendations for the Legislature. In addition, the Fiscal Analysis Division provides expenditure and revenue projections, fiscal data interpretation, program analysis and research related to state and local budgets, programs and policies. This is a full-time position located in Carson City, Nevada. Position Description: Under the direction and supervision of the Manager of Administrative Services, the Administrative Services Specialist will provide administrative support to the Division's professional staff during legislative sessions and interim periods. Responsibilities of the Administrative Services Specialist may include, without limitation: Providing general administrative support to Division staff and interim committees; Scheduling, coordinating and tracking meetings and travel arrangements; Answering and directing phone calls and emails to the appropriate staff; Supporting interim committees by posting agendas, preparing and distributing meeting materials, attending meetings and taking and transcribing minutes; Assisting analysts with proofreading, formatting and producing committee-related documents under tight deadlines during the legislative session; Assisting in the preparation, formatting and finalization of interim committee reports and related documentation; Performing general administrative duties, including, without limitation, document filing, mail distribution and drafting or proofreading correspondence; and Performing other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: The Administrative Services Specialist will be selected with special preference given to the candidate's training, experience and aptitude in the field of administrative services. A qualified applicant must have: (1) a high school diploma/GED; and a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements may be considered. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Exceptional proofreading and editing skills; Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro, as well as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel; Excellent verbal, written and digital communication skills; Professional communication skills with a strong emphasis on grammar, punctuation and business etiquette; The ability to work independently and collaboratively while producing high-quality work under tight deadlines; Experience in scheduling, coordinating and monitoring meetings and travel; The ability to take accurate and concise meeting minutes and transcribe them in a timely manner; A strong work ethic with professionalism and adherence to confidentiality at all times; Advanced organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure; and A strong commitment to maintaining political neutrality at all times. Salary: The annual salary for this position is based upon a Grade 32, which has a salary range of $56,689 to $83,666 under the employee/employer paid retirement option. An employer-paid contribution plan is also available with a reduced salary in lieu of an employee contribution. Actual starting salary will be based on experience. Benefits: The benefits include the accrual of paid annual leave and sick leave, health insurance and membership in the state's retirement plan. When overtime is worked, the Administrative Services Specialist may earn compensatory time that may be taken at a later date or be paid for overtime, consistent with the LCB Rules and Policies and subject to budgetary limits.
