Patient Financial Advocate
The Patient Financial Advocate's primary function is to perform a thorough financial screening of patients. The Financial Advocate is a primary contact for patient education in areas of insurance benefits, levels of coverage, and billing and collection processes. Responsibilities include: Ensuring that all accounts have been cleared for billing Obtaining insurance authorization for services Securing payment arrangements (including collection of co-payment/coinsurance) prior to patient discharge and for major outpatient services Identification of other potential payment sources (including Financial Assistance program, initiating/completing the Medical Assistance application process) Providing cost estimates. Additional skills and qualifications: 1-2 years work experience as Patient Financial Advocate, Patient Registration, Patient Accounting Experience in customer service, especially in front end patient interactions regarding financial processes Must be willing to travel between Maple Grove and Robbinsdale Must have reliable transportation Pay and benefits: The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
