Work-Study Student Assistant

The Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) at The University of Texas at Austin is a collegiate program that develops future leaders for the U.S. Army. We offer leadership training, academic coursework, and hands-on experience to prepare students for success as Army officers. Our program emphasizes leadership, teamwork, physical fitness, and community engagement. Army ROTC is seeking a highly motivated and creative assistant proficient in administrative duties. Responsibilities: Collaborates directly with the Department Manager, Human Resource Technician, and Recruiting Operations Officer to streamline recruitment processes and ensure seamless program operations Manages and organizes confidential cadet files, maintaining accurate and secure record-keeping Conducts outreach and recruitment efforts, engaging with local schools to attract prospective cadets and build program awareness Manages office operations with proficiency, handling tasks such as filing, data entry, and general record keeping Drafts and edits official correspondence, maintaining high standards of professionalism and attention to detail Coordinates schedules and appointments for ROTC officers to optimize time management and resources Utilize Workday to upload and maintain profiles for Texas Boys State and other outside organizations, ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and easy accessibility Develops and produces program merchandise to enhance visibility and engagement. Creates and edits memorandum for the United States Army Cadet Command, adhering to format and procedural standards. Edits and updates the Department's website, ensuring current, accurate, and accessible content Participates in marketing initiatives that promote awareness and appeal Assists in the planning and execution of ROTC events, including ceremonies, drills, and training exercises, while coordinating logistics for seamless event operations. Facilitates effective communication between university administration, ROTC staff, cadets, and external contacts, fostering smooth information flow. Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at The University of Texas at Austin Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. Work-Study Award Letter Preferred Qualifications

Administrative and event planning experience Proficiency in creating engaging visual content using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) or similar. Salary Range
