Shipping Supervisor

Job Summary: The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of shipping material handlers in the warehouse. They will manage inventory control, supervise the shipping processes, and ensure the efficient movement of materials within the facility. Duties/Responsibilities: Supervision and Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of material handlers, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and according to established procedures. Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and address any performance issues or concerns Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized inventory management systems. Coordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure adequate stock levels and timely replenishment of materials Shipping: Oversee the shipping process, including the inspection, verification, and recording of outgoing shippers. Coordinate with carriers and logistics partners to schedule inbound and outbound shipments. Ensure that materials are properly packaged, labeled, and prepared for shipment according to customer requirements. Work with the receiving coordinator on all RMA's being returned to Anchor Bay Packaging making sure they are out into the proper area. Material Handling and Storage: Develop and implement efficient material handling processes, including storage, picking, packing, and staging of materials. Optimize warehouse layout and storage systems to maximize space utilization and facilitate easy access to materials using FIFO. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines for the handling and storage of hazardous materials. Quality and Compliance: Enforce quality standards and procedures for handling, storing, and transporting materials. Conduct regular inspections of equipment, facilities, and materials to identify and address any safety or quality issues. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to material handling and inventory management. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, shipments, and adjustments. Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and operational performance for management review Competencies: Must be able to understand written and oral instruction and have an ability to communicate effectively with others. Solid understanding of production machinery and proper assembly procedures. Excellent knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. 5+ years of experience. Forklift certification required Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to lift, climb, push and pull as needed. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
