Construction Manager / Superintendent

Position Overview
JBrennon Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Manager / Superintendent to oversee the daily on-site operations for a new Wastewater Treatment Plant construction project. This role requires a unique balance of administrative expertise and field supervision, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with specifications and quality standards.
The CM will be supported by an on-site Project Management Assistant who will facilitate field tasks, but the CM remains the primary point of accountability for coordination, reporting, and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Daily On-Site Supervision
- Maintain a strong daily presence on site, monitoring subcontractor performance, safety, and progress.
- Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, and sequencing of work.
Administrative & Coordination Duties
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings, ensuring alignment across trades.
- Manage communication with subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders via email and reporting systems.
- Track project progress against schedule milestones and produce updates for management.
Quality Management & Control
- Conduct quality checks and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Maintain inspection logs and generate quality control reports.
- Support commissioning, testing, and turnover documentation.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and distribute daily reports, inspection records, and progress updates.
- Document field issues and coordinate resolutions with subcontractors, engineers, and the Project Manager.
- Assist in RFI generation and follow-up where required.
Technical & Industry Knowledge
- Apply a working knowledge of construction means and methods relevant to:
- Wastewater and water treatment facilities
- Metal building construction
- Underground piping and utility installation
- Concrete foundations and structures
- Interface with subcontractor subject matter experts while maintaining oversight of work quality and sequencing.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a Construction Manager, Superintendent, or similar role in commercial, industrial, or civil construction.
- Experience in the water/wastewater sector preferred, but strong candidates from other sectors will be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Strong computer skills (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent scheduling tools; Microsoft Office; email communication).
- Proven track record of managing safety, quality, and productivity in field operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site daily for the duration of the project.
