Internship - City Clerk's Office
The City of Birmingham (EOE) is looking for an Intern to join the City Clerk's Office. This is a great opportunity for students or recent grads who are interested in getting hands-on experience in local government. As a Clerk's Office Intern, you'll help with voter registration and support the administration of federal, state, and local elections in line with Michigan Election Law. You'll also take on a variety of office tasks such as: Answering resident questions Processing permit applications Indexing and maintaining legal files and city records Sorting and delivering mail Providing friendly, helpful customer service You'll be using software like BSA, LaserFiche, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and may receive training to use the State Qualified Voter File Other related tasks may be assigned as needed What we're looking for: Experience working with the public and strong customer service skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and solve problems effectively Clear communication skills, both written and spoken Schedule & Pay: Flexible hours up to 19 hours per week Must be able to work extra hours during election season Starting pay: $14/hour
