Ice Rink Operations Part-Time Position

The purpose of this position is to facilitate the provision of recreational activities for City citizens by providing numerous forms of customer service at the Allen Community Ice Rink. Other duties may include registering citizens for classes, camps and activities, processing POS transactions, managing a cash till, registering citizens for membership, assisting in opening and closing duties, maintaining the facility, providing various administrative services and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position does not provide direction to other employees. Essential Functions

The following duties are a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities of this position: Provides customer service by greeting members, answering and directing phone calls, providing facility information, including class schedules, hours of operation and policies, distributing equipment, supervising member activities within facility and by answering member questions and concerns. Registers citizens for classes, camps and activities by operating membership software, entering data, taking payments, filing records and providing members with pertinent information regarding the facility and registration. Processes POS transactions by operating MAX Enterprises or ACTIVE Software, entering and recording sales transactions and taking payments. Registers citizens for membership by operating MAX Enterprises or ACTIVE software, ensuring necessary paperwork is completed and filed, entering information into computer system and accepting payments. Assists in opening and closing facilities by organizing front desk work area, accounting for cash levels and printing reports for reconciliation of check/cash levels and record of daily transactions. Maintains facility, interior and exterior, by reporting complaints and problems, making calls for repair, handling customer complaints where appropriate. Provides various administrative services by ensuring safety in front lobby, assisting with development of brochures, signs and other marketing tools, maintaining adequate levels of supplies and marketing tools, assisting with special events and providing clerical based services. Job Requirements

Education & Experience: High School diploma or equivalent with no prior relevant work experience Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Certification and Other Requirements: Valid Class C Drivers License First Aid/CPR Certification, or the ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of hire Work Schedule: Able to work a flexible schedule that includes working morning, day, night and some weekend shifts. The employer has the flexibility to adjust an employee's working hours as needed and at their discretion. Supplemental Information

Knowledge Of: Recreation and ice rink facility operations and services. Customer service principles in a community recreation setting. Membership registration systems (e.g., MAX Enterprises, ACTIVE Net). Point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and reconciliation procedures. City safety standards, policies, and emergency protocols. Skilled In: Providing friendly, efficient customer service in person and over the phone. Registering participants for programs and memberships using recreation software. Processing payments and managing a cash drawer accurately. Communicating effectively with patrons, staff, and supervisors. Organizing and maintaining a clean and safe front desk and lobby area. Identifying and reporting facility issues or customer concerns. Assisting with facility opening and closing procedures. Supporting special events and marketing efforts. Multitasking in a fast-paced, public-facing environment. Work is primarily performed indoors in a recreational facility and ice rink setting. Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking. Occasional reaching, bending with possible twisting and climbing to reach supplies and equipment. Ability to lift 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently. Visual acuity to read printed materials and computer screens. Verbal and auditory ability to communicate effectively with staff members and customers. Occasional exposure to loud environments during events or tournaments. Requires a flexible schedule, including availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
