Accounts Payable Specialist - Construction
$24$27/hour Construction Industry | Onsite About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is fully onsite in Riverside and requires prior construction industry AP experience. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage a high volume of invoices while maintaining accuracy and compliance with company policies. Key Responsibilities
Process high-volume accounts payable invoices, including job cost coding and purchase order matching. Review, verify, and reconcile invoices, ensuring accuracy with contracts, purchase orders, and receipts. Handle subcontractor and vendor payments, including lien waivers, progress billings, and retainage when applicable. Manage weekly payment runs via ACH, check, and credit card. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Maintain organized and accurate AP files for audits and month-end close. Collaborate with project managers and the accounting team to resolve invoice or job cost issues. Assist with accruals and support month-end and year-end close processes. Qualifications
2+ years of Accounts Payable experience, with at least 1 year in the construction industry (required). Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems; experience with construction-specific software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar) is a plus. Strong knowledge of job cost coding and AP best practices. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in Accounting or related field preferred. Compensation & Schedule
Pay Rate: $24$27/hour (depending on experience). Schedule: Full-time, onsite in Riverside, CA. Contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for long-term growth.
