Customer Service Representative

The City of Topeka's Utilities department is seeking a customer-focused individual to join our dynamic team. Members of our team serve as a first point of contact for customers and contractors and are responsible for providing excellent service and support for Utility accounts. What you'll do: Answer incoming phone calls and take appropriate action as required. Process customer service requests, bill payments, transfer services, and customer updates. Investigate high water bill complaints and resolve, schedule inspections, and follow-up as needed. Assist with data entry and maintaining office records and correspondence. The ideal candidate: Is passionate about providing excellent customer service. Has excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Has the ability to problem-solve and multi-task. Is proficient in the use of standard office software. Has prior call center and/or data entry experience. Hours of operation are M-F 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Work schedule will be dependent on seniority within those hours. Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. One year of clerical experience is required with one year of customer service experience preferred. Entry rate of pay:
