Accountant

This position will be responsible for general accounting functions including recording transactions, reconciliations balance sheet schedules in accordance with GAAP.

Location: Midtown - Sacramento, CA (95811). This role allows a hybrid schedule requiring 2-3 days per week on site.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare accurate and timely journal entries for the general ledger monthly close in accordance with GAAP
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and provide analysis for assigned Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial statements and related supporting schedules.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Assist with financial and tax audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
  • Help prepare corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Participate in the development of organizational operating and capital budgets.
  • Assist in drafting, maintaining, and distributing written finance policies and procedures as assigned.

Additional Duties

  • Gathers, compiles, and reports financial information for various reporting purposes, both internal and external

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Arts in Accounting.
  • Three to Five years' experience
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Strong Reconciliation and Analytical skills.

Preferred Background

  • Familiarity with nonprofit, government, or healthcare accounting practices.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with month-end and year-end close processes.
