Overview
Senior Power Systems Consultant to join Siemens Grid Software’s Power Technologies International (PTI) team. This role is critical to the planning and integration of renewables, storage, and FACTS to the electrical grid and to perform large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems for clients such as power producers, independent system operators, and transmission providers to develop solutions for safe and reliable power system operations. This is a remote position based in the Contiguous U.S.
Responsibilities
Perform transmission planning through the application of power systems planning principles to simulate and analyze the power system steady state and dynamic behavior.
Prepare detailed written reports describing analyses performed, conclusions, and recommendations.
Work in small project teams, ensuring deliverables are of high quality and projects are completed within budget and schedule.
Develop automation scripts to improve the speed and accuracy of simulations and analysis.
Support proposal preparation by developing project plans, budgets, and timelines.
Deliver on-site technical consulting/training services.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications:
Master’s degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the electric power industry (consulting firm, utility, national lab, ISO, RTO, etc.)
Knowledge of transmission system planning or operations with experience analyzing power flow and dynamic stability using PSSE, TARA, or TSAT
Ability to travel 10% domestically
Preferred qualifications:
Prior experience in Power System Consulting
Transmission system planning or operations experience in MISO or SPP footprints
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems

The salary range for this position is $100,450 – 206,640. An annual incentive target is part of the compensation package. Actual wage offered may vary based on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and location.
