Senior Power Systems Consultant
to join Siemens Grid Software's Power Technologies International (PTI) team. This role is vital for the planning and integration of renewables, storage, and FACTS into the electrical grid. The candidate will perform large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems for utilities, RTOs, and energy asset owners to develop solutions for reliable power system operations. This is a remote position based in the contiguous U.S. Responsibilities include:
Leading consulting engagements related to power grid analysis, system dynamics, interconnection, and compliance. Managing project execution, tracking progress, and adjusting plans as needed. Maintaining client relationships and identifying new business opportunities. Supporting proposal development with project plans and budgets. Mentoring junior staff and developing automation scripts to improve efficiency. Providing on-site consulting and training services. Minimum requirements:
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power and Energy Systems. At least 5 years of experience in power systems analysis for utilities, ISOs, RTOs, or developers. Experience with power flow and stability analysis tools like PSSE, TARA, PSLF, or PowerWorld. Knowledge of NERC Standards and regional planning criteria. Strong communication skills and ability to produce technical reports. Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%. Preferred qualifications:
Prior consulting experience. Experience with MISO and/or SPP regions. Experience with transient analysis tools like PSCAD or EMTP-RV. Benefits:
