The Role
As a strategic people partner, the VP of HR will provide strategic leadership to the Executive team and help build the infrastructure, systems, and support programs that strengthen our team experience, enable cross-functional collaboration, and reinforce the culture that drives our mission-focused work. This leader will also play a critical role in empowering and equipping managers to foster staff growth and development, ensuring people and performance strategies are aligned to organizational success. Importantly, the VP of HR will partner with an experienced HR Generalist already on staff, who provides day-to-day operational support. This allows the VP to focus on high-level strategy, leadership, and talent development. Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Development
Lead the full talent lifecycle - from attracting and sourcing candidates to interviewing, hiring, and onboarding Partner with hiring managers to define roles and run a structured, equitable selection process that supports our values and culture Ensure new employees are effectively onboarded and set up for success from day one Oversee performance management systems, including feedback cycles and performance improvement processes Empower and support managers with tools, coaching, and resources to guide staff growth and development Design and maintain clear, equitable career paths and role expectations that support internal consistency and advancement across teams Support change management initiatives, including leadership transitions and organizational updates Culture & Engagement
Partner closely with the Executive team and SVP/EVP/VP leaders to generate ideas and collaborate on initiatives that strengthen culture and engagement across the organization Support and empower leaders in designing employee engagement programs, recognition efforts, and internal communications that reflect our values and mission Serve as a trusted advisor and collaborator, ensuring leaders are equipped to create a positive, engaging employee experience across all teams Compliance & Employee Relations
Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including ACA, EEOC, FMLA, and workers’ compensation Maintain and update employee policies, handbooks, and leave administration processes Manage employee relations with professionalism and discretion, including investigations, conflict resolution, and performance challenges Support leaders through sensitive issues such as terminations and transitions Benefits & Compensation
Design and manage a comprehensive total rewards strategy, including compensation structures, health benefits, wellness programs, 401(k), and payroll Oversee open enrollment and ensure compliance with all benefit-related regulations Collaborate with CFO and COO to align compensation models with organizational and team needs Qualifications
10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior/executive role Proven track record in HR operations: compliance, performance, benefits, employee relations, and talent acquisition Agency or professional services industry experience required Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to partner cross-functionally with senior leaders across the business SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred Location:
Dallas/Ft. Worth preferred; open to strong remote candidates across the U.S. Reports to:
