We’re a fast-growing software company (~325 employees) looking for an
HR Generalist
to join our team in Bethesda, MD. This is a hands-on role where you’ll balance strategic HR initiatives with day-to-day operations—supporting employees and managers, and our HR AI initiatives. You’ll own the employee experience from onboarding to benefits and compliance, while also rolling up your sleeves for office operations and employee events. This is an in-office role at our Bethesda, MD headquarters, five days per week. What You’ll Do
Lead onboarding, new hire orientation, and offboarding Manage benefits administration, monthly reconciliations, and leave processes Maintain and update our AI HR assistant tool Assist with annual reporting (ACA/1095s, PCORI fees, EEO-1, 5500s) Partner with Finance/Payroll on HR-related filings and compliance Be the go-to HR contact for employee and manager general questions As needed, support recruiting by scheduling interviews, coordinating background checks, and preparing offer letters Provide administrative support to the company by organizing events (holiday parties, trainings, team lunches) and managing supplies and facilities needs Continuously improve HR processes and documentation to support growth and scalability What We’re Looking For
4–6 years of progressive HR experience (onboarding, benefits, and compliance) Strong knowledge of HR operations and employment law Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables) required; SharePoint a plus Experience working in HRIS and payroll systems Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills Detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable wearing multiple hats Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field Nice to Have
Experience in a growth-stage software or technology company HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar) Experience with AI tools in HR processes Seniority level
