Sr. Application Administrator

Bethesda, MD (Hybrid 45 days onsite first 3060 days, then 2 days onsite per week) 1218 Month Contract Clearance: Active Public Trust or ability to obtain Public Trust We are seeking a Sr. Application Administrator to manage and support enterprise applications in a hybrid government IT environment. The role involves administering application systems, troubleshooting performance issues, deploying updates, and ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep mission-critical systems secure, reliable, and optimized. Key Responsibilities: - Administer and maintain enterprise-level application systems, including databases, middleware, and user interfaces - Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations - Collaborate with development teams to test and deploy application updates and patches - Develop and document standard operating procedures for application management - Provide technical support and training to end-users, ensuring their efficient and effective use of the applications - Analyze usage data and user feedback to identify opportunities for improvement - Participate in project planning and implementation, contributing your application expertise Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field - 5+ years of experience as a Sr. Application Administrator or similar role - Proficient in administering and troubleshooting enterprise-level application systems - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams - Familiarity with government regulations and compliance requirements - Certifications in relevant application administration or IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL, TOGAF) are preferred
