Overview

CHS Dakota Plains Ag in Claire City, SD is looking for a Seasonal Truck Driver to join our team for fall harvest. This is a Monday–Friday position with occasional weekend work and extended hours during the week. The role typically lasts from late September to mid November. The ideal candidate would have a Class A or B CDL or the ability to obtain a seasonal CDL. NO CDL IS REQUIRED! This position offers the opportunity to earn extra cash in a short period of time.

Base pay

$18.85/hr - $30.10/hr

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely pick up/deliveries to customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner. Assist with loading or unloading as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service. Greet customers promptly and courteously, handle customer concerns, and escalate to leadership when required.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including pre-trip and post-trip reporting, proper load securement, and hours of service.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle(s) and work environment.
• Complete and document daily maintenance inspections and ensure proper equipment maintenance, including repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Promote a strong safety culture and follow safety policies, training, PPE procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate hazards and seek assistance to correct unsafe actions or conditions.
• Report incidents, accidents, and traffic violations to the supervisor promptly.
• Enroll in and complete mandatory CHS random drug and alcohol testing and the Continuous Monitoring Program.
• Assist operational staff and perform other duties as needed or assigned, including intercompany driving as required.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain seasonal CDL.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English and understand highway signs and signals.

Additional Qualifications

• Maintain or be able to obtain a CDL and DOT medical card.
• Ability to work additional hours and occasional weekends to meet business demands.
• Valid Class A CDL preferred; Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements preferred.
• Agriculture background and customer service experience preferred.
• Pre-employment screening may be required and can include drug, criminal, motor vehicle checks, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse.
