As a Cost Accountant, you'll deliver accurate cost analysis, variance reporting, and financial insights to support decision-making and maintain strong financial control. You'll work closely with operations and accounting teams to track costs, analyze performance, and enhance reporting processes within a manufacturing environment.

As a Cost Accountant, you'll deliver accurate cost analysis, variance reporting, and financial insights to support decision-making and maintain strong financial control. You'll work closely with operations and accounting teams to track costs, analyze performance, and enhance reporting processes within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze cost accounting records, including standard costs, labor, and overhead.
• Conduct variance analysis on materials, labor, and overhead.
• Prepare reports and explanations for management review.
• Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, and monthly/quarterly financial reports.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain to validate cost data and support process improvements.
• Partner with engineering and plant administration to validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings.
• Assist with product profitability and margin analysis.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
• Support external and internal audits as needed.
• All other duties as directed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, ideally in the manufacturing industry.
• Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
• ERP system experience (e.g., Great Plains, SAP, or similar).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to explain cost insights clearly to diverse stakeholders.
