Overview
This position is for a Business Analyst who will act as the primary interface with business partners, solution architects, and cross-organizational technology teams. The Analyst will analyze current processes and systems, assess the business model and its integration with technology, and work with stakeholders to understand their needs, analyze problems, and capture requirements. The Analyst will collaborate with the Development Team to refine requirements into specifications for execution within an Agile Scrum environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between business partners, solution architects, and cross-organizational technology teams.
- Analyze current processes and systems; assess business model integration with technology.
- Gather and document requirements, analyze problems, and translate business needs into actionable specifications.
- Refine requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria in collaboration with the Product Owner and Developers.
- Support UAT and SIT testers to clarify requirements and determine whether issues are defects or new requirements.
- Work with Testers to ensure test plans and scripts satisfy requirements.
- Facilitate discussions and communicate clearly; demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
- Operate within an Agile environment, participating in feature writing, story grooming, and sprint planning; working knowledge of agile tools such as JIRA.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify gaps, opportunities, and needed improvements in current capabilities.
Qualifications
- Excellent analytical skills with at least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Experience eliciting requirements, documenting process flows, identifying risks and mitigations, and defining strategies for technical solutions.
- Experience documenting detailed functional and technical requirements for business needs.
- Ability to communicate with developers to ensure acceptance criteria for user stories are understood and applied.
- Experience providing guidance to UAT and SIT testers on requirement interpretation.
- Ability to communicate with Testers to ensure test plans and scripts meet requirements.
- Strong facilitation, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to analyze existing capabilities, identify gaps, and propose improvements.
- Working knowledge of agile tools (e.g., JIRA) and Agile methodologies including feature writing, story grooming, and sprint planning.
- Demonstrated collaboration and effective communication within a team environment.
- JIRA experience; openness to Waterfall/Agile approaches as needed.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may vary by plan or program terms.
