We are seeking an experienced
Crane Operator
to safely operate overhead and/or mobile cranes for a steel manufacturing, fabrication facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of lifting procedures, material handling, and safety practices specific to heavy steel products such as beams, coils, plates, and fabricated assemblies. The candidate will Safely operate overhead cranes to load, unload, and move steel materials within the plant. Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate material placement. Monitor crane and equipment performance; conduct routine maintenance. Use proper chemical handling procedures, including safe disposal per company policies. Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. Record production data or orders accurately into company systems.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands are as followed:
Engage in
very heavy work , with frequent lifting and continuous handling of 20+ lbs. Tasks include frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, and balancing. Work in loud industrial environments with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. Good visual acuity is required—able to clearly see 20 feet or more with depth perception.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or GED but not required.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written English skills
Math Skills:
Basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) required.
Attributes:
Self-motivated, dependable, team-oriented, and calm under pressure with a positive “can-do” attitude.
Experience:
Six months of production or forklift operation is but not mandatory.
Physical Abilities:
Ability to read a tape measure, use compass directions, and have the visual capability for safe crane operation.
Overtime:
Willingness to work overtime.
Candidate must pass a Background Check and Drug Screen.
